What We Do

We help support creative young people to develop new skills, become more confident with what they can contribute to a working environment, and we create supportive networks of peers and mentors to continue to nurture their ongoing journey.

Training and

Development

Programmes

Our programmes for older young people aged 16 – 30 target those who identify as being from a marginalised group. We take participants through programme of personal, professional, and creative development so that they learn key skills required for their desired career.

As well as offering CV support, pitch and presentation support, and support with personal branding, we also run a mentor scheme which matches young people to a mentor, also from marginalised background, who is established within the industry.

This has real-world effects as it creates pathways into the arts sector and improves the diversity of the professional ecosystem.

Facilitator

Training

We deliver Facilitator Training to people wanting to work in arts facilitation. We often employ young people who have been through our programmes and now want to develop their leadership skills further.

We work closely with project partners to development pipelines to employment, and often provide references, DBS check, and work experience to delegates who have come through our programmes. In the long term, this leads to increased

employability for participants, and it means we have an inbuilt system to ensure high standards for all of our freelance practitioners.

School

Holiday

Drama Club

We deliver subsidised School Holiday Drama Clubs in areas of high deprivation. Our ethos centres around building self-efficacy through creativity, achievement, and collaboration. We develop young leaders by empowering participants to model positive

behaviours for their peers and to ensure that all voices are heard within the creative space.

We work hard as a team to curate quality programming, which is often themed with child friendly social themes, to help them better understand, belong, and contribute to their community.

Theatre In

Education

Tours

Producing Theatre In Education projects is a core part of our delivery model. Our work is grounded in an Applied Theatre pedagogy which allows the students to fully unpack their thoughts about what has been presented and to embody some of those opinions creatively in a safe and professionally facilitated space.

We believe in the transformative power of artistic interventions on young people, especially when the work is relatable and speaks directly to them. It is our mission to make to arts more accessible. Theatre In Education Tours help us achieve this aim.
